My Trend Forecasts for 2023

As the new year is quickly arriving, I am looking at the Pinterest trend forecast and thinking that I disagree with them in their findings.

The primary discrepancy I have is with the forecast of 'rom com core'. While the 2000s are coming back in force with low-waisted pants and sparkles, I see the trends heading down the path of the new Netflix show Wednesday that promotes black clothing and braids. Rom com core is certainly a way of stating that the 2000s are coming back, but we must also look to more pop culture of today as well that dictates what people wear and who they imitate.

In terms of rom com, though, I do see airy styles coming into play as they predict as well as the sort of ‘sci fi’ fits that Kylie Jenner has show at the latest fashion weeks with her strange no-frame lenses. and the reflective and silver fabrics coming off of runways. As the 2000s styles come back, so does their fascination with the future and the space era with metallics and out-of-the-ordinary accessories.
